What Is a Split/Multi-Split Air Conditioner?

A split air conditioner has two major components: an exterior compressor and an indoor air outlet unit. Split air conditioners rely on a set of pipes to connect the outdoor to the indoor air unit, which is why they are referred to as ductless mini-split air conditioner installations. Unlike systems that require a network of ductwork networked throughout the ceiling, split air conditioners rely on a set of pipes to connect the outdoor to the inside air unit. The refrigerant is diffused via the copper pipes that cycle through the system to produce hot or cold air.

In terms of energy efficiency, a split system with the highest ENERGY STAR certification not only helps to keep the environment clean, but it also helps to minimise your monthly power bill by using less energy.

If it's time to install a new air conditioner or replace an existing system with a more energy-efficient one, here's an energy-efficient choice to think about. The split air conditioner system is one of the most prevalent air conditioning systems that work well in houses without ductwork as an addition to your present heating and cooling system.

Multi-split systems can have up to 6 inside units coupled to 1 outside unit, whereas single-split systems have one interior unit and one outside unit. Multi-split is suitable for a wide range of temperature zones, as well as many rooms or large areas.

  • Unfortunately, we do not.

  • We work with and are proud to supply the worlds leading air conditioning brands including Daikin, Mitsubishi, LG, Midea, Toshiba, Samsung & Fujitsu.

  • Because we are a self-contained business, we are able to select equipment that is both energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. We provide equipment from world-class manufacturers, allowing us to offer our customers a diverse selection of options for usage in a variety of air conditioning applications. We also incorporate through-life repairs and maintenance in our contracts, which ensures we only install equipment from the highest-quality providers with a proven track record.

  • No. All units, in our opinion, should be properly specified and installed by competent F-Gas experts from a reputable air conditioning business. We have no influence over the final installation if we provide 'supply only' products.

  • When another AC company offers a lower price, it's almost always because the quote was not based on a like-for-like comparison. We think we will be able to price match on any similar quotation.

Air Conditioning In
General

  • Air conditioning units typically range in volume from 25 to 70 decibels, with the loudest unit being eight times louder than the quietest.

A 25-decibel air conditioner operates at a volume slightly above a whisper, making it difficult to hear.

  • A basic air conditioner costs around 44p per hour to operate.

Please keep in mind that the actual cost of running it is determined by the amount of time you use your air conditioner, as well as the type of air conditioner you have and the amount of energy you pay for.

  • Air conditioning devices reduce the temperature by taking warm air from your home and pumping it outside, while releasing cool air back into the space. When a liquid turns into a gas, it absorbs heat, and this is how they work in theory.

  • Many air conditioners offer a heating mode that works in tandem with your central heating to raise the room's temperature.

  • Yes, it will.

Air conditioning dehumidifies the interior air by removing both heat and moisture. Excess condensation drains out of your unit through the condensate pan behind the evaporator coil after the refrigerant absorbs the moisture and warmth from the indoor air.

  • Fitted air conditioners are meant to lower the room's temperature to a comfortable level. A properly configured unit should be able to chill a room by 8 to 10 degrees Celsius below the outside ambient temperature.

Please keep in mind that if you're trying to chill a space to freezing temperatures, you'll probably need refrigeration equipment rather than air conditioners.

  • Domestic cooling devices that are not in continual use only require one servicing per year. Office units should be serviced at least twice a year to keep them working at their best. At least three service visits per year are recommended for server rooms. Additional service visits are made to places with significant levels of pollution or pollutants in the air, such as kitchens, hairdressers, and workshops.

Air Conditioning Installation

  • This can take from as little as a few hours, up to a couple of days (dependant on the pipe run of the system).

  • Our expert supervisors or senior engineers will oversee the whole project, no matter how big or little it is. We don't cut corners on supervision, whether we're installing 1 unit or 100.

  • This is determined by the installation's size, which varies from property to property. In a conservation area, for example, approval from the local authority is required. If you don't own your home, you might need to get permission from your landlord. We usually recommend informing your landlord and/or local authority of your plans to install air conditioning and receiving written confirmation that they have no problems.

  • Market leaders Daikin and Mitsubishi Electric provide up to a 7-year warranty. We will, however, extend similar levels of guarantee on Fujitsu, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and other brands because these devices offer an identical degree of reliability at a cheaper price.

  • To install an air conditioner, you must be an F-Gas certified air conditioning engineer. We are frequently dispatched to sites to repair equipment that have been placed incorrectly. DIY installations, as well as installations by trained builders lacking in air conditioning experience, generally wind up costing significantly more in the long run due to lost time and resources.

  • We only sell air conditioning products from reputable brands that are built to last. The equipment must be subjected to frequent maintenance and service in order to ensure its lifespan. Unfortunately, the market is filled with low-cost gadgets that are frequently "dumped" in the UK — this equipment is invariably specified in lower-cost quotes. We don't deal with these substandard items or 'budget brand' equipment since we've discovered that these systems are unreliable and more expensive in the long run.

  • Even if we did not install your equipment, we are delighted to give a price for service and repairs. Please contact us for an estimate.
